Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs appeared on Earth about 230 million years ago. They lived on Earth for around 165 million years - that's 40,000 times longer than humans have lived on Earth. They disappeared about 65,000 years ago. Find out more about these great prehistoric animals.

Dinosaurs lived in the Mesozoic Era - the age of reptiles. The Mesozoic Era had three periods of time:
* Triassic Period: small fast dinosaurs appeared for the first time
* Jurassic Period: many dinosaurs were on the earth including the giants and flying pterosaurs
* Cretaceous Period: dinosaurs ruled the Earth, but all dinosaurs died at the end of this period
